The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) is accepting applications for the PAC Assistant Commissioner for Governance & Championships. This is a newly created full-time position beginning in the 2022-23 academic year that is partially funded through the NCAA Division III Strategic Alliance Matching Grant (SAMG) program. The PAC Assistant Commissioner for Governance & Championships will be actively involved in all aspects of operations and administration in a 23-sport NCAA Division III athletic conference, with specific responsibilities in the following areas: conference governance planning & oversight (40%), championship organization & administration (30%), serving as PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor (15%), and conference internal operations (10%). Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the commissioner and deputy commissioner (5%).

Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree is preferred) with strong interpersonal and written communication skills. The candidate must be available to work nights and weekends and must have their own means of transportation. Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years experience working full-time or as a paid intern/graduate assistant in sports administration.

Skills desired for this position include demonstrated organizational and administrative proficiency, a proactive management style capable of multi-tasking and working independently with little direct supervision, and a pleasant and genial professional disposition capable of working with a wide variety of individuals and personality types. Experience and aptitude in ancillary areas (sports information, desktop publishing, graphic design, financial management, athletic compliance, coaching experience, etc.) is a plus.
