The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Department of Athletics invites applications in a national search for the position of Assistant Women’s Golf Coach. This full-time position is responsible for assisting the head coach with coaching, recruiting and day-to-day operations of the Division I women’s golf program in accordance with NCAA, conference and University rules and regulations while: 1) creating an atmosphere where graduation is facilitated through participation in intercollegiate athletics, 2) teaching student-athletes to be productive citizens who contribute to society for life, and 3) winning championships.

The assistant coach must have a philosophy that maintains a competitive Division I program that values the educational and personal well-being of its student-athletes and emphasizes the core values of:

Traditional assistant coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coaching effectively in practice and competition, energetic and engaged recruiting, evaluation of opposition and game strategies, promoting an atmosphere of compliance, managing the program’s equipment, and coordinating team travel. The assistant coach also assists the head coach when necessary with scheduling and budget management, fundraising, and building relationships with other departments and constituency groups on campus and in the community.
