About Ohio Athletic Conference
The Ohio Athletic Conference is a 10-member NCAA Division III conference based in Westerville, Ohio. The OAC was established in 1902, several years before the NCAA was founded, with an emphasis on student-athlete well-being and safety - principles that continue to drive conference decision-making more than 100 years later.
The conference currently sponsors championships in 21 sports and has a storied history as one of the most competitively successful conferences in Division III. OAC institutions have won national championships in many of the conference-sponsored sports and are often found among the top 10 in national standings.
All 10 OAC institutions were founded during the 19th century and have demonstrated a commitment to incorporating a meaningful athletics experience into the overall higher educational model.
In service to its student-athletes, the conference is led by commissioner, Sarah Otey, the conference's first female and second full-time commissioner.
