USCAA

Under direct supervision of the Head Coach, responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

• Assisting Head Coach in the successful operation of the Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving program

• Assistance in workout development

• Serve as on-deck coach during practices and meets, observing and evaluating student-athlete performance and demonstrating proper technique

• Identify and recruit academically and athletically talented student-athletes • Assist in organizing home contests

• Maintain knowledge of all appropriate NCAA, UAA, and CWRU rules, regulations, and policies

• Assist in coordinating team travel arrangements

• Assist in organizing official recruiting visits

• Assist in alumni development and fundraising

• Develop and maintain effective relationships and communications with students, colleagues, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and general public

• Teach Physical Education classes assigned by Chair of Department

• Other duties as assigned

Preference will be given to candidates with successful coaching, teaching, and recruiting experience at the collegiate level.  Other skills preferred are:

• Intercollegiate swimming experience
• Strong understanding and ability to teach proper stroke technique
• Strong understanding of NCAA and conference rules
• Strong understanding of intercollegiate athletics role in the overall educational experience
• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), Hy-Tech Meet Manager and Team Manager software
• Knowledge of Colorado Timing System operations
• Ability and desire to work non-traditional hours, including occasional nights and weekends
