The United States Sports Academy (USSA) is an independent, non-profit, accredited, special mission sports university. USSA is an all-online university specializing in degrees in the field of sport. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Chair of Sports Exercise Science. The Departmental Chair will provide instruction in both residential and online settings, undertake administrative activities in the Division of Academic Affairs; provide academic, portfolio, and mentorship advising to students and assist with curriculum development and course writing for the discipline. The faculty member will also supervise the activities in the Human Performance Laboratory, fitness facilities, and Sports Medicine Lab. In addition, the faculty member will seek out grant opportunities and conduct such research and writing as needed for professional development, and participate in service activities as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An earned doctorate in Exercise Science (or a related discipline) with at least five years teaching and supervisory academic experience in higher education and evidence of scholarly production are required. Experience in administering academic programs in a non-traditional setting and via asynchronous, on-line delivery is required. The successful candidate must possess demonstrable and developed computer skills.
