Operations, Operations - Business Office, Operations - Ticket Office
The purpose of this position is to assist in athletic business operations. Will manage athletic ticketing system; assist with monitoring of team budgets; manage and facilitate student-athlete payments through the Special Assistance fund and the Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund; spreadsheet imports; vendor setup; and other related duties.
May serve as supervisor to student workers.
Upholds and ensures compliance with rules and regulations of the NCAA, MEAC, NEC and the University.
Assist in managing all day-to-day business paperwork including, but not limited to, purchase orders, requisitions for payment, spreadsheet imports, and invoice processing.
Assist with oversight of all athletic budgets.
Assist in monitoring all revenue and expenses for Howard University Athletics.
Coordinate use of department vans.
Increase attendance and ticket sales revenue with a primary focus on season ticket renewals, new season tickets and group sales.
Participate in the development, implementation and execution of ticket sales programs and initiatives.
Identify new business opportunities by establishing professional and personal networks.
Assist in the implementation of customer service and retention strategies in order to deliver consistently positive service and exceed set goals in annual ticket sales revenue. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Ability and desire to perform accurate detail-oriented work, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to understand, follow and enforce NCAA, MEAC and University rules and regulations.
Proficiency in computer skills and relevant software applications.
Ability to foster a cooperative environment.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to travel as required.
Knowledge of the principals and practices of office management.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 1-3 years of related work experience. Ticketing experience preferred.
