The Bryn Mawr School is seeking an Assistant Athletics Director and Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach to begin August 2021. Qualified candidates should have 2+ years of coaching experience and a bachelor’s degree. Collegiate lacrosse playing experience is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent organization, writing and communication skills.
Assistant Athletics Director Key Responsibilities Serve as the college recruiting coordinator which includes meeting with prospective parents and students, acting as the athletic liaison with college counseling, providing updates and discussing prospective student athletes, and facilitating a yearly workshop on the college recruitment process Advise and lead student-athlete leadership development programs which includes developing and facilitating leadership curriculum and training for captains, accompanying student-athletes on leadership workshops/field trips and providing support for captains throughout the year Govern all athletics social media outlets including facebook, instagram twitter and Bryn Mawr web updates Teach two sections of physical education and serve as an advisor in either the Middle or Upper School Assist the Director of Athletics in the following: problem solving and managing parent, student-athlete, ATC and coach issues organizing and facilitating coaches meetings reviewing the weekly calendar preparing the athletics assembly and open house observing practices and games leading the Upper School Athletic Association managing databases, NFHS filming, uniform, equipment and spirit gear other administrative duties and projects assigned by the Director of Athletics
Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach Key Responsibilities Plan and attend all practices and games, drive minibuses for games Communicate with parents and students throughout the season Manage assistant coaches Organize the use of equipment Attend pre and postseason league coaches meetings and postseason assembly Lead team meetings: watch, analyze and review game film with the team (familiarize self with the video technology of Hudl), motivate athletes Attract and retain prospective student-athletes through coaching with a top area club team and working at two summer lacrosse camps approved by Director of Athletics Facilitate and coach off season lacrosse clinics for prospective students and current LS and MS students Plan spring break trips/team bonding activities
In season practices are from 3:30-5:30 PM Monday through Friday. There is an average of 2 games per week. The lacrosse season begins in late February and concludes in mid May. The coach will also conduct some off-season sessions in the fall within IAAM league guidelines and will focus on developing and overseeing the lacrosse program as a whole, including Middle School, JV and Varsity programs.
