The Associate Athletic Director for Marketing position is a senior staff level administrative position responsible for the oversight and coordination of all marketing within Kansas Athletics, Inc. The position is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day operations of the Marketing staff and directly supervises all marketing staff. The position also works closely with all external units in an effort to improve collaboration, better engage fans and drive revenue.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
Minimum of five years’ experience in sports marketing or closely related field;
Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules;
Outstanding skills in written, oral and interpersonal communication;
Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate and advance strategic plans and programs that support the Athletic Department mission and contribute to the overall goals and objectives of the external relations programs;
Ability with managing multi-phase projects from inception to completion, including the ability to build consensus among team members and balance multiple concurrent priorities;
Ability and willingness to work an irregular schedule including, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed;
Ability and willingness to travel for various athletic games and events as needed.
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
Two years’ experience leading and developing staff;
Experience driving revenue and selling out sporting venues of 10,000+;
Experience with event coordination and presentation, strategic approach with digital media placement for ticket sales, and innovation of ideas for game day and fan experiences;
Administrative experience in Division I athletics program or the equivalent.
