Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
VCU Athletics is seeking an outstanding Sports Medicine Director for Men’s Basketball who, under the general supervision of the Assistant AD for Sports Medicine will coordinate at a high-level athletic injury prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation for VCU Intercollegiate student-athletes in the Men’s Basketball program. Additionally, this position will be responsible for keeping accurate records of all treatments of athletic injuries and organizing the men’s basketball training room.
Minimum hiring standards include: • Master’s degree • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU • Demonstrated experience working as the athletic trainer for a Division I men’s basketball program • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communications skills are required • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours which include nights, weekends and overnight travel • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multi-tasking environment, with a strong sense of principles and ethics in regard to the welfare of student-athletes • BOC Certification required • Eligibility for Virginia Athletic Training License is required • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications required • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules.
