The Assistant Softball Coach is a professional coaching position involved in working alongside the head coach in all aspects of running a Division II softball program. This position will involve working with individuals with diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, overseeing weight training and conditioning sessions, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, recruiting, scouting, field maintenance, and assisting in all phases of a competitive softball program.
Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree
Required Experience Two years of experience in intercollegiate or professional athletics
ABILITIES This person needs the ability to communicate effectively with both the student-athletes and the academic side of the university as we strive to provide the best possible academic experience for all of our student-athletes. This person must have strong leadership skills that student-athletes will want to follow.
KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as it relates to the recruitment of prospective student athletes. Understanding of Georgia College's mission as well as our entrance requirements. Recruit quality athletes who are also quality students; insure that athletes will achieve GPA's comparable to or greater than the University average; insure that athletes graduate at a rate comparable to or greater than the University average.
SKILLS Communication skills a must; Leadership abilities are of the utmost importance.
