SUMMARY Assist the Head Coach – Women’s Softball (Fast Pitch) with various activities associated with the operations of the Softball (Fast Pitch) program including practice planning, game preparation, game execution, coaching and teaching the knowledge, skills, techniques, and strategies to optimize player abilities and development and team competitiveness, recruitment, conditioning programs, monitoring academic performance and student life and development, fundraising activities. Assist in coordinating summer and other camps. Ensure compliance with institutional, regional, and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited institution required.
Master’s degree from a nationally accredited institution preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Softball (Fast Pitch) coaching experience required at the collegiate or professional level or three years of coaching experience at the high school level.
Outfield coaching experience preferred.
Field/equipment maintenance experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal communication, planning, and organization skills required.
Experience working in public relations and with the media preferred.
Experience in collegiate athletic programs or recreation preferred.
Knowledge of NJCAA and Title IX regulations and reporting preferred.
Current CPR / AED certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout the country.
Generally, works in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
Outside athletic events may involve hot and cold weather conditions.
Work environment can be stressful at times in dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines.
Travel for recruitment, games, practices, and various events, including evening and weekend work hours.
