The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Ticket Analyst to analyze and report on all ticket sales by sport and sales initiative and assist with ensuring our revenues are accurately deposited and reported in a timely manner.
Description of Position:
The Ticket Analyst will serve as the primary person for reporting all ticket revenue for internal use in the Athletics Department. Additionally, this person must be able to analyze ticket sales based on historical data, goals, and benchmarks. This position will aid in streamlining the deposit process and assist with reconciliation of all ticket revenue. This position is part of the Business and Finance Office in IA and reports directly to the Director of Revenue Accounting & Analysis.
Prepare financial reports for Director of Revenue Accounting & Analysis, CFO, and Campus Cashier using a variety of systems.
Update and monitor data software for all ticketed sports.
Provide sales analysis for non-premium revenue, reconciled and reported as part of the Facilities Financing Model.
Calculate monthly sales signing bonuses for Premium Seating Sales Representatives and Sales & Service Account Executives.
Ensures the Athletics Ticket Office (ATO) deposits reconcile with the University’s general ledger.
Gather data and information from diverse sources to identify, research, and resolve software problems; research and compile data to dispute chargeback notifications; administer chargeback process for the ATO.
Act as liaison with the ATO and Development to enhance communication between units around deposits, reporting, and analysis.
Verify, settle and deposit all ticket monies including credit card, check, and cash transactions.
Bachelor degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Proficiency with Paciolan or equivalent ticketing system.
Must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-12 Conference, the NCAA, as well as other associations and agencies to which the Berkeley campus of the University of California adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Intercollegiate Athletics, with specific experience in an Athletics Ticket Office.
Working knowledge of financial processes, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular in Excel, and in common desktop/web applications.
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.
Critical thinking, sound judgment and decision-making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Ability to multi-task in a high volume environment.
Must be self-motivated, organized and punctual.
