The Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Director for Compliance and Monitoring. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
Individual serves the Athletic Department as the Assistant Director for Compliance and Monitoring. Responsibilities include assisting with the daily operation of the Athletics Compliance Office and making recommendations to the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Sport Services to ensure institutional control in regards to NCAA Compliance.
Individual will have responsibilities specific to NCAA Bylaw 11, which includes working with department coaches and staff on coaching declaration, Head Coach Responsibility, new staff orientations, approval of outside income and approval of outside employment. Individual will also have responsibility to monitor and educate on systems related to NCAA Bylaw 12 and 16, which will include post-enrollment monitoring of all student-athlete benefits as well as the process to collect, monitor and distribute student-athlete disclosure information related to requests for use of Name, Image and Likeness. Individual will also serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to NCAA Bylaw 17, which will include monitoring and educating on time management plans, season declarations, monitoring of countable athletically related activities and student-athlete involvement with outside teams.
Individual will be asked to provide NCAA rules interpretations and file pertinent NCAA and Pac-12 Waivers related to NCAA Bylaws 11, 12, 16 and 17.
Individual will have other NCAA Compliance related monitoring and rules education duties as assigned by the Executive Deputy Athletic Director, Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Individual will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Sport Services.
