Missouri Western State University, located in St Joseph, Missouri, 45 minutes north of Kansas City is seeking an energetic and motivated graduate assistant for Athletic Training to begin fall semester 2021 (8-01-21).
Missouri Western is an NCAA Division II institution, which successfully competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) in 16 sports.
The Graduate Assistant will provide support and assistance to the Head Athletic Trainer. The GA receives graduate school tuition covering up to a maximum of 9 credit hours per semester as well as a monthly stipend ($2500 per semester).
Duties include, but are not limited to: •Will be assigned as the certified athletic trainer for athletic team(s) •Assists with daily health care management of student-athletes •Serves as liaison to professional team physicians •Maintains and tracks athletic training equipment and supplies. •Will work up to 20 hours per week.
Bachelor’s degree. Employment is contingent on acceptance into MWSU Graduate School (2.75 GPA required for admission).
Knowledge of University and NCAA rules and regulations; possess the requisite qualities for the profession; be able to handle a high workload in a demanding environment and be well organized; excellent interpersonal skills; be able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and issues; able to work independently.
Must be CPR/AED certified. Must have certified Athletic Training license.
Additional Salary Information: Plus up to 9 credit hours paid per semester.
