The Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and External Operations position is a full-time position with benefits and is responsible for all athletic department external functions, including: complete game and event management, keeping and maintain accurate statistics for each home athletic contest, helping coordinate athletic department advancement initiatives and all other external related projects and tasks.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Assistant Athletic Director – Sports Information and External Operations:
Maintain PC Saints athletic department website in accordance with NAIA and NSAA regulations. Responsible for game day event management for all athletic contests including: staffing of game day help for all home events, tracking and accurately reporting statistics for each sport including checking statistics for all home and away games, making arrangements with home and visiting media for coverage of home games, and issuing information to various media outlets. Be proficient in programs such as Adobe InDesign to create and produce brochures/flyers for various Saints events including team camps, Student-Athlete banquet, and team tryouts. Responsible for submitting all award nominations to the NAIA and NSAA. Compile data and creates NAIA End of Year and assists with preparation of Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) annual report. Approve and publish press releases for Saints Athletics. Accommodate media representatives by issuing press credentials, supplying in-game statistics, and assisting in coordinating interviews and press conferences. Organize media days to publicize the Saints and allow media access to coaches and players in accordance with NAIA regulations. Manage and promote Saints Athletics through social media. Supervise Assistant SID, Graduate Assistants, and SID work-study. Help with the planning and execution for all athletic development fundraisers, including Golf with the Saints, The Halos (student-athlete banquet), and Hall of Fame events. Identify alumni, parents, friends and corporations for Saints Booster Club, Annual Fund, and other advancement initiatives. Coordinate crowdfunding events for each individual sport to help maximize revenue through creative marketing/fundraising campaigns. Assist with stewardship efforts for donors, sponsors, corporate partners and other constituents. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Knowledge and Experience
Excellent writing skills required; possess a strong understanding and appreciation for all sports; efficient time management skills and attention to detail; must attend all athletic events and represent Presentation College at all meetings and/or conferences in accordance with NAIA requirements.
Must have the ability to coordinate several projects at the same time while under strict deadlines. Must be outgoing and able to build rapport with people in the advancement of Saints Athletics and Presentation College. Must have integrity and respect; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; leadership skills with ability to work effectively with all constituents.
