The Head Men's Golf Coach at Cameron University, an NCAA Division II institution in the Lone Star Conference, is a highly responsible and demanding position. The University has a winning tradition in athletics and is strongly supported by the local community. This is a 12-month assignment. All members of the Athletic Staff are expected to be team players supporting each other while promoting the mission of the University, supporting the philosophy of the Athletic Department, and assuring the well-being of all student athletes. The Head Men's Golf Coach will be responsible for the development and implementation of a high-quality collegiate athletic program, which is in conformity with NCAA, conference and university rules, regulations and policies. Job Duties as Head Men's Golf Coach (.75 FTE) include, but are not limited to: support and perform duties as assigned by the Athletic Director; instruction during practices and tournaments; recruiting student athletes; administers a scholarship program; develops a budget within the allocated institutional resources and manages expenditures of funds within the developed budget; performs fundraising for the program and the Athletic Department; supervises professional and student assistants; develops schedules for matches, tournaments, and practices; active involvement in community service activities; assure the academic success of the student athletes; responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of the Terry Bell Golf Center and Cameron Golf Practice Facility; and other duties as assigned. Job Duties as Coordinator of Special Functions (.25) include, but are not limited to: serves as the lead person at all home athletic events; coordinates staff, student worker and athletic teams to work athletic events; secures half-time entertainment as needed and National Anthem performers; greets visiting opponents and officials as they arrive for the athletic contests; point of contact to ensure crowd control; responsible for ensuring the University is conducting a top-notch athletic event, and other duties as assigned. The position reports directly to the Athletic Director. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; college, graduate assistant or high school coaching experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated organizational and management ability; and a strong work ethic with a team player's positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree and coaching experience at the college level.
