As a member of the athletics communications staff, the individual serves as a media relations contact and content creator for select Butler Athletics teams.
A strong focus on telling compelling stories through written, video, social media, graphics or other innovative formats is desired. Duties also include updating of Butler Athletics web site and team social media accounts, producing materials to assist media members with their coverage of Butler teams while also communicating directly to a number of Butler constituents through avenues such as game notes, previews, recaps, features stories, short-form videos, and updating record books/media guides.
The individual is also responsible for developing external media relationships and managing media requests for assigned sports as well as overseeing gameday media relations duties including statistics for select sports.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study required Experience working in a college athletics communications office preferred Familiarity with StatCrew and NCAA Live Stats software, video editing and graphic design preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong work ethic Ability to work nights and weekends
This is a part-time position and does not include benefits. Position is paid based on an hourly wage and will have a cap on number of hours permitted to work each week
