Georgian Court University’s Athletics Department is currently seeking a qualified Graduate Assistant focusing on Game Operations and Sports Information. Georgian Court University, a member of NCAA Division II, sponsors 14 varsity sports. GCU competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and the East Coast Conference (Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field only). The position is a 12-month part-time position that is renewable each academic year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Georgian Court Athletics Communications and Operations staff in coordinating and implementing game-day operations for Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s & Women’s Soccer, Softball, Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field and Women’s Volleyball
Assist with the promotion and publicity of all 14 intercollegiate sports
Directly oversee set-up, live production, and breakdown of game-day streaming equipment
Management of student employees and game-day event staff for all home games
Produce game-day programs and graphics
Serve as the official scorer and provide statistical input (basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, volleyball) using Presto Stats
Compile and distribute statistics to the CACC and NCAA
Maintain Georgian Court Athletics social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing, sports management, journalism, or related field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Customer service and organizational skills; desire creativity and growth within a rapidly changing and developing athletic program
Experience working in an athletic communications office preferred
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator)
Previous professional social media experience preferred
Experience with statistical software, specifically Presto Stats or Stat Crew preferred
To be considered for a graduate assistantship, you must be a matriculating graduate student accepted into a Georgian Court University graduate degree program. Full-time enrollment status is required throughout your graduate assistantship while maintaining a GPA of 3.0. It is expected that you comply with all federal and state laws and policies of Georgian Court University.
