The Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex is a 28-acre waterfront sports village located between 17th and 23rd Streets along Manhattan's Hudson River. This $120 million, privately-financed project opened in 1995, transforming four historic, but long-neglected, piers into a major center for public recreation and waterfront access. Situated on Piers 59, 60, and 61 and in the headhouse that connects them, the Complex features the following sports and entertainment venues: The Golf Club, Chelsea Piers Fitness, Sky Rink, The Field House, Bowlmor Chelsea Piers, Pier Sixty, The Lighthouse, and Current.
Chelsea Piers is excited to look for Gymnastics and Ninja Instructors to join our Field House team. We need coaches primarily for recreational classes, school break camps, birthday parties, and special events. This is a part-time hourly position, with the possibility of moving to full-time status.
Must be dependable, respectful, and passionate about gymnastics or “Ninja” and working with children
A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching gymnastics or ninja-related programs to children between the ages of 1-16 years
Ability to create or follow lessons plans for a variety of ages and abilities
Weekend availability (consistent weekday availability will also be considered)
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong work ethic, consistent punctuality, and positive attitude
Must enjoy working in a team environment
Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner throughout the workday
Complete USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and SafeSport Certification (may complete within 1st month of employment)

After sixty (60) days of employment, you will be eligible for fifteen (15) days of paid vacation (prorated in your first year of employment). Tuition Assistance – Chelsea Piers supports employees’ continuing education. After one (1) year of full-time service, you will be eligible to receive tuition assistance paid by Chelsea Piers in the amount of $750 annually for your first five (5) years of full-time employment and $1,500 annually after five (5) years of full-time employment. The education, instruction, or training must be job-related and/or or have the potential to strengthen your skills/knowledge and enhance your performance.
TransitChek Program – You will be eligible to participate in the TransitChek program, which allows for the pre-tax purchase of MetroCards or TransitChek debit cards that are used to purchase commuting tickets and passes from transit operators throughout the metropolitan area.
Employee Referral Program – We encourage our employees to refer their qualified family and friends to work at Chelsea Piers. For any referral who is hired and stays at Chelsea Piers a minimum of sixty (60) days, you will receive a referral bonus of $500 for full-time hires (minimum 35 hours per week) and $250 for part-time/non-seasonal hires (minimum twenty (20) hours per week).
