•Provides comprehensive academic advising services to undergraduate students.
•Advises both enrolled and prospective undergraduate students on University, College and department academic curricular requirements, including admissions and general education requirements and requirements for specific programs, majors and minors.
•Explains graduation requirements to students and provides information about course prerequisites, alternatives and equivalents.
•Assists students with registration and may coordinate course scheduling.
•Serve as the primary monitor of the athletic academic services daytime and evening study table program, ensuring that student-athletes are properly utilizing a productive study facility with functional desktops, laptops, and printers.
•Complete weekly meetings with 15-20 academically at-risk student-athletes each semester.
•Manage the book loan distribution and return process for student-athletes each semester.
•Coordinate the athletic academic services class check system each semester to routinely check class attendance of student-athletes, particularly those considered at-risk.
•Assist in the annual update of the Student-Athlete Handbook, coordinating updates with appropriate athletic department personnel and ensuring revisions are incorporated into the new version.
•Aid in developing the Summer II Class/Seminar for entering freshman student-athletes, planning presentation topics, and guest speakers for academic and personal development.
•Assists with projects as assigned.
•May assist in recruitment and retention efforts.
•May evaluate student-athlete and NCAA compliance issues with athletic department personnel.
Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
One year's relevant experience.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desired Qualifications- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
