Bellarmine University Athletics has an immediate opening for an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. This position will assist the Head Women's Basketball Coach with all phases of a Division I women's basketball program.
The Assistant Coach will:
Assist the head coach in the framing and coaching of the University's team;
Assist in the scouting and recruiting of prospective players for enrollment at the University; Provide academic support and retention for student-athletes;
Provide leadership and guidance necessary for a positive competitive environment for the student-athletes;
Communicate regularly with Head Coach concerning admissions, eligibility, recruiting, and any other procedures relating to the sport;
Assist the head coach in the promotion of the women's basketball program;
Participate in annual continuing education and testing as required by the NCAA, Conference, and/or Institution;
Assist the head coach in the day-to-day administrative duties;
Promote a culture of inclusion - working effectively within a culture of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations;
Abide by and comply with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the Department of Athletics and University;
Contribute to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned;
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field required.
2-4 years of professional or collegiate coaching experience
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
Ability to recruit NCAA Division I student-athletes
