The University of Rhode Island Athletics Department is seeking an intern for graphic design/content creation, with the ability to develop graphics and/or video content to achieve the social media initiatives of the department. The 10-month position will begin approximately July 1 and will work through May 1 and will receive a salary of $15,000 ($1,500/month). This does not include employee benefits.
Job Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to, producing graphic design and video/motion elements for various Rhody Athletics social media platforms, assisting in the production of select video board content, and assisting in the creation of literature across all areas of the department. The qualified candidate must be able to fulfill requests from many different areas, including athletic communications, marketing, ticketing, development, Rhody Sports Properties (Learfield), and all athletic teams while adhering to and assisting in the development of the department's brand standards.
Social media responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collaborating with the marketing department to set the vision and focus for the department, organizing key initiatives, and handling many of the day-to-day duties of each platform (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube).
The intern may assist at select home athletic events and will be required to be available for all home football games. Limited travel, as well as evening and weekend work, may be required. The successful candidate will be expected to complete other Marketing duties as assigned.

A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication technology, communications, marketing, sports management, or a related field is preferred,
Experience in Athletics Department setting is preferred, or use of the internship to fulfill the requirements to obtain a degree;
The successful candidate should have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects preferred;
Experience with DSLR cameras/video cameras preferred (not required);
Experience with ICS Sidearm websites or similar content management system preferred;
Experience managing social media campaigns preferred;
Experience in file management and organization preferred;
Experience working with collegiate coaching staffs preferred;
Strong writing and grammar skills.
