Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the full time position of Head Coach Women’s Soccer. Reporting to the Athletic Director, essential duties include, but are not limited to: Manage and oversee the operations of the women’s soccer program to include recruiting, practice/game management, travel organization, skill development, event scheduling, academic supervision, equipment management and fundraising. Attend, run, and plan soccer practice sessions, consisting of implementing drills and activities to instruct players in the proper execution of soccer techniques. Teach soccer skills to student athletes in order to enhance their athletic ability and teamwork while developing leadership skills and life learning outcomes. Coach student athletes during games, providing specific feedback to athletes regarding soccer skills and techniques. Develop, teach and implement a comprehensive strength and conditioning program that helps teach proper mechanics for fitness which minimizes injuries and trains athletes for success on the court and after their soccer career has ended. Lead film sessions with student athletes and create game plans for opponents, understanding and analyzing the particular strengths/weaknesses of the student athletes on the team and of the opponents while ensuring athletes are improving in the sport. Support the academic progress of the student athletes involved in the soccer program by organizing study tables, tutoring as necessary, and providing access to academic support as needed. Develop opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in the NAIA Champions of Character program. Use these opportunities to teach life lessons about respect, hard work, value of education and service to others. Plan and execute the schedule of all contests and practices in compliance with RSC and NAIA regulations. Coordinate practices, fulfill game duties, ensure compliance with all NAIA rules. Make soccer scholarship funding decisions. Fulfill associated duties such as speaking engagements. Recruit, quality student athletes as members of the men’s basketball program. Maintain facility set up at Kokomo Municipal Stadium including painting of lines, coordinating schedules with baseball team and MKE staff. Ensure facility is ready for all home contests.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree Preferred. Four or more years of coaching experience, preferable at the collegiate level, and at least one year of management experience also required. Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills; maintains a high degree of professionalism; demonstrated time management and priority setting skills; demonstrates a high commitment to quality; excellent organizational skills; excellent collaboration and team building skills; effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback; instills commitment to organizational goals; demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills; effective conflict management skills; builds and manages effective teams
