Primary Position Function/Summary: Primary Position Function/Summary: Responsible for the execution of annual outbound ticket sales campaigns for the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) and the State Farm Center. Position will focus on sales and retention of season tickets, premium tickets, single game tickets, and group tickets via phone and face-to-face appointments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Ticket Sales - Promote event attendance and implement strategies to increase revenue. Self-identify potential new leads and target provided lists to sell season tickets, premium tickets, single game tickets, and group tickets. Establish, maintain, and expand client lists. Work with ticket sales team to implement new outreach programs via phone calls and facilitating repeat business. Renew and retain past group ticket buyers. Renew and retain past season ticket purchasers. Manage and service assigned season ticket holder accounts to help meet overall season ticket retention goals. Aggressively prospect new group ticket sales opportunities. Cultivate relationships with businesses and organizations to ensure customer satisfaction and future growth of ticket sales. Meet or exceed sales goals and weekly activity requirements. Maintain accurate and detailed notes regarding customers and document all touch points with clients in CRM. Support a positive sales culture. Work collaboratively with other departments within DIA, including but not limited to Marketing and DIA’s multimedia rights partners. Engage, interact and correspond with existing and potential I FUND donors and season ticket holders on issues such as seating (including priority seating) and parking allocation and adjustment and other related issues, all with the goal of cultivating premium seating sales and ticket-related gifts. Ensure that personal sales goals and objectives are met in accordance with all NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and University of Illinois rules and regulations.
Supervision and Management of Account Executives - Supervise and manage a high functioning sales team, providing staff with clear roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, mentoring, training, and support to be a successful unit. Hire, train, and provide daily support to all ticket sales staff direct reports. Develop and implement sales strategies, procedures, and processes for the ticket sales team. Create and provide reporting on established sales goals for all ticket sales staff. Evaluate performance and areas of growth amongst ticket sales staff direct reports. Provide regular and periodic sales reporting to Associate Athletic Director of Ticketing to gage performance of sales team unit towards meeting established goals. Meet or exceed sales established departmental goals and weekly activity requirements. Maintain, program, and direct sales team CRM usage to meet needs of various ticket sales campaigns.
Gameday/Event Responsibilities - Work all football and men’s basketball games as well as select volleyball and women’s basketball games. Work State Farm Center ticketed events as needed Manage and coordinate sale and setup of all group tent rentals for tailgating at football games Serve as DIA contact for groups in attendance to answer questions related to event. Visit with select groups during the game in order to gather feedback. Visit with select season ticket holders prior to game to thank them for their support and answer any questions and gather feedback related to their game experience. Support ticket office gameday/event operations in any duties as needed.
Community Outreach - Represent the department in a sales capacity at select community/fan events.
Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in athletic administration or related field required
Experience: Required: At least one year experience of ticket office operations or ticket sales, preferably in an athletic venue. Preferred: Experience managing a ticket sales staff
Experience with ticketing software systems preferred
