Connecting to these values, the Athletic Director provides strategic leadership and management of all facets of the athletic program including supervision for staff and coaches for all College-sanctioned sports programs, activities and events. Upholding the College’s mission and commitment to student success, the Athletic Director is accountable for compliance with NJCAA regulations, MCCAA rules, Title IX, and college and/or state polices and ensures that required reports are filed with the NJCAA or applicable entity. Further, the Athletic Director is responsible for the development and management of the department budget including sport team budgets.
Collaborating with other College functions such as Academic Advising, Academic Success Coaching, Tutoring Services, the Athletic Director will uphold strategies and promote services designed to bolster student-athlete success, retention, transfer opportunities, and graduation rates at the College. The Athletic Director will conduct meaningful supervision and performance evaluations of all athletic department staff. This position requires the ability to work some evening and weekends to attend sporting events or other athletic or College- related activities.
Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Significant experience in leadership, management, and supervisory skills.
Significant experience in sports administration.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Demonstrated experience with fund-raising, athletic recruitment, and student success strategies.
