Glenville State College is actively seeking a trained and committed individual to serve as Head Volleyball Coach for our Athletic Department. The Head Coach will oversee all operations of the program in compliance with institutional, Mountain East Conference, and NCAA regulations. The Head Coach must have a strong commitment to providing a competitive program in the sport, with a focus on character and academic achievement.
Examples of Duties: *Coordinate a comprehensive recruitment process for the program. *Oversight of the program’s academic performance. *Maintain all necessary office work in a complete and timely manner. *Coordinate workout and practice plans in accordance with the *Schedule all travel arrangements for team competition. *Oversight of assistant coaches. *Serve as the primary facilitator for program fundraising activities. *Manage the program’s operational budget and recruitment budget. *Maintenance of the program’s equipment and facilities. *Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications: *Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred. *Playing experience at the college level required, college coaching experience preferred. *Recruiting experience required. *Possess an understanding of chain of command. *Experience of managing a budget in some manner preferred. *Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel. *Must be familiar with various aspects of online operations; research, recruitment, and travel options. *Must have excellent communication skills. *Possess an understanding of high volume recruitment, and the hours associated with the position.
