Kansas Athletics Inc. is seeking a Head Coach for our Women's Golf team. The head coach oversees all aspects of the program and is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of the athletic program in support of the mission and core values of the Athletic Department and Kanas University.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
Develop and implement an overall recruiting plan to identify, recruit, and retain top prospective student-athletes; Demonstrate effective teaching and coaching skills, tactics, and technique; Coordinate practice planning, skill development, and design coaching strategies which prepare team for competition; Establish and enforce rules of conduct as well as mentor student-athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth; Collaborate with Athletic units on admissions, financial aid, academic support, legal affairs, student-athlete development, and compliance; Work with Kansas Team Health staff regarding sports medicine guidelines for the health, safety and well-being of student-athletes; Demonstrate adherence to University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations while overseeing activities of Assistant Coach, staff who work with the golf program, and student-athletes to verify compliance with a clear mandate to self-report any violations; Promote the team and establish a competitive schedule; Prepare a reasonable budget in coordination with sport administrator and CFO; Hire, supervise, and guide the professional development of assistant coach by providing expanded responsibilities, regular appraisals, and annual performance reviews; Willingness to foster positive public relations through Athletics and University efforts.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
Minimum of 4 years of experience working with student-athletes at an NCAA Intercollegiate Athletics program;
Advanced knowledge and understanding of technical and strategic aspects of the game of golf;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community;
Ability to teach, lead, motivate and guide student-athletes;
Ability to recruit effectively with no athletic grants-in-aid and highly selective admissions standards;
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment;
Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
