New Jersey Institute of Technology is a NCAA Division I institution and a member of the America East Conference located in the University Heights district of Newark, NJ, is accepting applications for the full-time position of Head Coach Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Track/Field. The Head Coach will be responsible for directing all aspects of the program including but not limited to: the recruitment of qualified student-athletes consistent with the competitive requirements of a DI program and the academic standards of the University; organizing, conducting and supervising practices; and the preparation and implementation of game strategies. Additional responsibilities include: scheduling, budget oversight, supervision of assistant coaches & staff; participation in fundraising, alumni, public relations, and community initiatives. The Head Coach must be committed to NCAA & University rules compliance. Other duties include serving on institutional and America East committees.
Essential qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience as a cross country or a track & field coach at a competitive collegiate level. All applications must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, process working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, and demonstrate a commitment of student athlete welfare and athletics excellence in a rigorous academic environment.
