Position Description Provided leadership and direction for an assigned area within the athletics department. Plans, develops, and implements strategies in support of the athletic department's mission and goals. Work is performed under the direction of the Athletic Director. Responsible for all employees in the assigned area.
Serve as a senior leader for the Director of Athletics in all matters related to student-athlete academic planning/success.
Support and contribute to a holistic approach for student-athlete success.
Support an inclusive culture while building and maintaining strong, positive relationships and an organizational structure to support the department’s strategic goals and initiatives.
Invest personal commitment, passion, and energy into all Texas Tech athletic teams, including but not limited to attending sporting events, developing relationships with the student-athletes on and off the field, and being available to all constituents for counsel and mentorship.
Assist in coordinating department-wide strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Eight (8) years progressively responsible experience in fiscal financial management and administration. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills Ability to conceptualize and prioritize goals and objectives. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences. Must have a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Division I athletics eligibility rules knowledge.
Seven years of athletics academic services or compliance employment at the Division I level.
Strong knowledge of athletics academic support services best practices and a demonstrated ability to lead an athletics academic services team.
Experience with initial, transfer, and continuing athletics eligibility rules.
Experience educating coaches, prospective student-athletes, and student-athletes on athletics eligibility requirements.
High integrity and ethical believer in the ideals of intercollegiate athletics and a strong advocate for the tradition, vision, and values of Texas Tech Athletics.
