The Director of Sports Performance will oversee the Academy Athletic Training offerings, as well as the Strength & Conditioning program. Serving as Head Athletic Trainer, the Director will collaborate with the Head Strength Coach, Assistant Athletic Trainer, and Culinary Services to create and implement training programs appropriate for the Academy’s student-athletes. Daily practice & game coverage for all Academy athletic teams, as well as campus support for injuries outside of athletics, are key components of the position.
The Director of Sports Performance reports to the Director of Athletics. The position works with the Academy’s Head Coaches on strength & conditioning programming as well as rehabilitation processes, including return to play protocols. Additionally, the Director will communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff on all athletic related injuries.
Applications for the position will be accepted beginning May 1st, with a new Director of Sports Performance named by June 15th. The position’s start date is August 1st, 2021.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (Masters Preferred), BOC Certification, minimum 3-5 years of Athletic Training experience at the high school, college, or professional level.
Extensive experience with orthopedic injuries, and associated rehabilitation schedules.
Working knowledge of collegiate-model strength & conditioning programs, and athletic nutrition.
Proficiency in Google applications.
Effective written and oral communication skills with parents, students, and staff.
Understanding of independent school culture, or a willingness to work toward that understanding.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights & weekends.
Empathy, patience, and tact.
