The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is full-time, 12-month position and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Bethel College basketball program within the guidelines set forth by Bethel College, the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Bethel College women’s basketball appeared in the NAIA national tournament for the first time in school history this past season and has excelled at unprecedented levels over the past 3 seasons including a school record for wins set in 2018-2019 and three consecutive conference post-season tournament appearances.
Essential Functions: -Support the Mission, Vision, & Values of Bethel College -Help identify, evaluate, recruit and retain a roster of at least 30 total eligible women’s basketball student-athletes. -Organize practices and competitions, including JV competitions, for Women’s Basketball Team -Recruit, hire and evaluate all assistant coaches -Perform administrative duties for women’s basketball program in regards to game schedule, budget management, travel arrangements, scheduling of practice facility, and academic support -Knowledge and compliance of all KCAC and NAIA sport guidelines -Perform administrative assistant duties for the Athletics Department as a gameday administrator -Purchase and maintain all women’s basketball related equipment -Work closely with the Sports Information Director on all media necessities -Maintain NAIA eligibility and all other related documentation -Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn and adapt to changing work processes, including moving from in-person to remote work and back, as necessitated by College policy or as directed by the supervisor -Satisfy the duties of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) relating to Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (“Clery Act”) and satisfy the duties of an Official with Authority (OWA) and Mandated Reporter relating to Title IX and the Bethel College Equal Opportunity, Harassment, & Non-Discrimination Policy and Procedures -Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position -Comply with Bethel College policies and procedures
