Emory & Henry College, a member of the NCAA Division III and Old Dominion Athletic Conference will be joining the NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference pending acceptance in July, is currently seeking applications to fill an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis coaching position. This is a full-time, twelve-month position that includes comprehensive benefits and a competitive salary. The right candidate may also be given primary oversight over either the men’s or women’s team (practice management, matches and recruiting) gaining valuable associate level coaching experience.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist head coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of a competitive men’s and women’s tennis program. Specific responsibilities include identification and recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes hit with players during regular practice sessions and game preparation assisting with the administrative process for team travel, program budgets, public/alumni relations and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics candidate should also understand and be knowledgeable of the NCAA rules and regulations and thrive in a motivated, team oriented atmosphere
Bachelor’s degree is required
Previous coaching experience at the college level is preferred.? Experience coaching or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification will be given special consideration.

Ability to coach, teach and train student-athletes in skills and strategies specific to their sport
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and the importance of holistic education
Ability to establish appropriate and effective mentoring relationships with student-athletes
Ability to be a supportive team player within the Athletics Department and Emory & Henry College
Ability to communicate effectively
Working knowledge of computer programs and systems
Demonstrated commitment to continued learning/professional development?(i.e. attend conferences, clinics, workshops
