Northeastern State University Athletics, located in Tahlequah, Okla., is seeking applicants for a Strategic Communications Assistant.
This internship is designed to give those who have recently graduated or continuing education opportunities within intercollegiate athletics, with a focus on athletics strategic communications.
The start date is anticipated for August 1, 2020, and a successful candidate is expected to commit to working for 10 months.
Possible duties include serving as the main contact and secondary contact for specific assigned sports, designing marketing and recruiting materials for all NSU sports, including shooting video highlights, photography, social media graphics and GIFs, print and digital ads.
The ideal candidate should have an understanding of StatCrew/Genius programs, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), and social media.
Bachelor’s degree in sport management, journalism, communications, or related field. Other qualifications include strong writing and editing skills, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and general sports knowledge.
Additional Salary Information: Campus housing is subject to availability for a fee and can be waved if enrolled in a graduate program. Out-of-state tuition fees will be waived.
