The University, located in Charlottesville, Virginia, is a selective public institution known for its teaching, research, and public service. UVA sponsors a 27-sport intercollegiate athletics program, which includes approximately 750 student-athletes.
The Assistant Director of Football Operations position exists to assist the Director of Football Operations and the Head Football Coach with day-to-day operations of the Football program.
Assists the Assistant to the Head Football Coach with day-to-day administrative functions, including upkeep of the master calendar and event planning.
Assists with pre-season/in-season/post-season tasks as directed, including hotel bids/site visits, plane manifests, bus assignments, and all other team logistics.
Assists with student-athlete management during home and away games.
Assists with Game Day operational/logistical duties, as assigned.
Works with Director of Football Operations to plan NFL Pro Day and Alumni Day events each year.
Assists with coordination of student-athlete housing (in-season and out of season).
Assists with all onboarding processes for incoming student-athletes.
Organizes all team-building activities throughout the year.
Assists with facility updates for Scott Stadium, the McCue Center Football Office, and the George Welsh Indoor Practice Facility, as directed.
Assists in curation for Football displays.
Reviews monthly budget reports for assigned budget areas and notifies supervisor of status.
Closely monitors all reports and invoices to ensure spending stays within budget.
Works with Director of Football Operations and Assistant to the Head Football Coach to ensure the completion/submission of Countable Hours, DER, Participation Reports and Lettering, Squad Lists, Discretionary Period, and other Compliance requirements, as necessary.
Knows/complies with all University, Athletic Department, and office policies, rules, and regulations.
Knows/complies with ACC and NCAA rules and regulations.
Promotes an atmosphere of compliance and ensures all actions are consistent with ACC and NCAA rules.
Annual completion of NCAA compliance exam.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: At least 2 years of prior experience providing administrative and/or operational support in a collegiate athletics environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Familiarity with the sport of Football and the ability to represent the Football program in a professional manner and work with tact on complex, sensitive, and confidential issues.
Computer Applications: Microsoft Office Suite
Must be available to work all home and away Football games and post-season games, as needed. This includes potential work on holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
Must be available to work weekends and early mornings/late nights with little notice.
Education: Master's Degree.
Experience: 3+ years of prior experience providing administrative and/or operational support in a Division 1 athletics environment. Prior experience with collegiate Football.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of NCAA, ACC, and University rules and regulations with regard to the sport of Football.
