Individual serves as Director of Compliance. Individual reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Administration and will assist with various aspects of the compliance program. The Director of Compliance (Director) will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Office and will help ensure that Pitt’s 19 varsity sports are in compliance with NCAA, ACC, and institutional regulations. The primary responsibility of the Director is oversight of Bylaw 14, including but not limited to serving as the direct liaison to the University of Pittsburgh’s Office of the Registrar, Office of Admissions, the University's colleges, deans, and advisors, and the NCAA Eligibility Center. The Director will work in conjunction with the University’s Certifying Officer within the Office of the Registrar to monitor the initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility of student-athletes. The individual will also, as assigned, educate Pitt staff and student-athletes on NCAA, ACC, and institutional regulations, and research and prepare NCAA waivers and rules interpretations.
Experience working in or directly with a DI athletics compliance office, with exposure to the eligibility certification process, strongly preferred. Experience in NCAA rules and concepts highly preferred. Superior organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards, and the ability to prioritize and coordinate several complex duties. Experience using NCAA website tools, LSDBi, Compliance Assistant, JumpForward, Teamworks, and other computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, and database). An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted as determined by the University. Advanced degree preferred.
