Lincoln Memorial University Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications and Game Operations Reports to: Assistant Athletic Director of Internal Operations, Director of Athletic Communications Department: Athletics Classification: Graduate Assistant Deadline: June 1st, 2021 The Lincoln Memorial University Athletics Department is seeking to hire a graduate assistant for athletic communications and game operations beginning August 2021. The Graduate Assistant will assist with the day-to-day operations of the athletic communications department, helping to enhance the university and athletic department’s brand through various forms of media communication and game operations. This position offers full tuition for the MBA, MSBA, MED or MSCJ programs, on-campus housing, and 50 meals per semester in the on-campus dining hall.

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to; Oversight of the university’s athletics website (LMURailsplitters.com); Creating content via LMU Railsplitters’ social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.); Serving as the main media contact for 2-4 athletic teams/programs; Assist with coordination of game management tasks and communication for all home events; Assist with management and oversight of department’s athletics facilities; Other duties assigned by Athletic Administration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: LMU Athletics is looking for a graduate assistant with previous experience in athletics as a student-athlete, intern, or an employee with strong written and verbal communication skills, creative and innovative ideas, planning, organizing, time management, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Must be able to work individually and collaborate with others effectively. Knowledge of StatCrew, PrestoSports, SIDEARM and NCAA Live Stats is preferred. Experience in calling and/or inputting stats, and knowledge of rules for any of the following is preferred: Basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey, and soccer. Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, AfterEffects, etc.) or other video-editing software is preferred.
Qualifications: Candidates must be interested in pursuing a career within college athletics or the sports industry. Bachelor’s degree required as well as successful admission to the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Education or Master of Science in Criminal Justice graduate programs of the University, maintenance of satisfactory progress toward a graduate degree, and a letter of assignment as a graduate assistant signed by the President of the University.
