Head of Athletic Performance
St. Olaf College
The Head of Athletic Performance at St. Olaf College will be responsible for the overall management of the strength and conditioning program for 26 sport programs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Develop and administer the strength and conditioning program for select teams – 90% of time -Assess individual and team needs -Develop sport specific strength and conditioning programs that focus on proper movement preparation, power development, energy system development, utilizing free weight exercises, plyometric training and sport specific movement training -Implement strength and conditioning programs -Schedule team workouts -Apply appropriate motivational techniques -Ensure instruction in safe and correct execution of all training parameters -Periodically assess general fitness performance through testing -Review injury records and consult with team athletic trainers on pre and post injury training -Oversee use of Porter Hall Weight Room 2. Supervisory Responsibilities – 5% of time -Recruit, hire, train, and supervise professional staff member -Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student workers -Assign sport assignments -Approve timecards 3. Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director – 5% of time -Attend meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree; CSCCA Strength & Conditioning Coach certified (SCCC) or NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS); possess and maintain current First Aid, CPR and AED certifications; maintain a valid driver’s license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record Experience: 2+ years of strength and conditioning experience in either a professional, school, club or clinic setting
