Assistant/Associate Director of Development - Annual Fund

Definition of Class The Assistant Director of Development/Annual Fund is a member of the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation staff and charged with the identification, solicitation, and raising of annual fund gifts to support Ole Miss Athletics. This position reports to the Associate Athletics Director for Resource Development. Examples of Work Performed Actively managing and continuously growing a donor base with the goal of increasing both annual and philanthropic giving. Assisting donors with the renewal, purchase, and allocation of tickets and parking for football, basketball, and baseball. Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting new annual fund gifts. Working collaboratively with the annual fund team toward meeting established team goals. Working closely with the ticket office staff on donor accounts and sales campaigns. Participating in fundraising activities and development events for the benefit of Ole Miss Athletics including but not limited to home game activities, on and off-campus donor events, and other athletics events containing a donor presence. Assisting in the development and implementation of creative annual fund campaigns. Helping to plan and execute stewardship events for annual fund donors and prospects. Promoting the growth of revenue through innovative programming and marketing within the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation. Assisting the Associate AD for Resource Development in creating and managing a collaborative environment and promoting teamwork among both divisions of the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation – annual fund and major gifts. Participation in Athletics Department external teams. Representing Ole Miss Athletics in a positive manner by interacting well with donors, fans, alumni, and community members. Maintaining institutional integrity through the compliance with NCAA, SEC, and University policies, rules, and regulations. Working some nights and weekends. Performing other duties and projects as assigned. Essential Functions 1.Assisting donors and prospects with their annual fund donations and ticket purchases. 2.Assisting in the development and implementation of creative annual fund campaigns. 3.Participating in various fundraising and stewardship events and activities.
Minimum Requirements Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. At least two years of fundraising, ticketing, or sales experience in a college athletics or related setting. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Strong and positive leadership skills. Detailed knowledge of Paciolan software. Computer application skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word, Apple products, donation tracking software, and email. Knowledge of the practices, principles, and methods of fundraising and general fund management. Knowledge of NCAA and SEC compliance rules and regulations. Ability to be highly energetic, self-starting, and creative. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to effectively work in a highly consultative and collaborative environment. Ability to give and receive information through vision, speaking and listening, and effective motor coordination. Corrective devices may be used. Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Master’s degree. Full-time position with established in-hire pay range.
