Black Hills State University is the U.S. State of South Dakota's third largest comprehensive public university, offering both undergraduate and graduate programs. The athletic teams of Black Hills State University are known as the Yellow Jackets. The University is currently a member of NCAA Division II, with 14 sports competing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). BHSU Rodeo teams are members of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). Black Hills State University, a member of NCAA DII and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is seeking to fill a Graduate Assistant – Triathlon Swim Coach and Aquatics Assistant position in its athletic department for the 2021-22 academic school year. Essential Duties include: •Assist BHSU Varsity Women’s Triathlon Head Coach in design and implementation of swim workouts and training. •Travel with triathlon team for training and competitions throughout the dual-semester seasons (a valid driver’s license required). •Assist with hosting recruit visits. •Assist with all team fundraising activities. •Monitor study hall as needed. •Responsible for upkeep of all BHSU Triathlon social media accounts and outreach materials. •Prepare the end-of-season awards banquet and recap video. •Coordinate lifeguard hours and pool schedule. •Assist with the ensuring that daily water testing protocols are being followed. •Assist with scheduling user groups of pool. •Assist with scheduling swim lesson sessions and hiring instructors. This position will report directly to the Triathlon Head Coach/Aquatics Operations Manager and Athletic Director, and requires some nights and weekends.
