Assistant Athletic Director, Fan Experience and Sales, Department of Athletics

This position will lead marketing, fan experience, and sales efforts to develop and enhance the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina while working daily to build and foster the Demon Deacon brand. Essential Functions: Provide daily leadership for the Fan Experience and Sales team, including managing all efforts related to marketing and promotions for all 18 athletic programs and other athletic events. Work in partnership with the Associate Athletic Director for Fan Experience & Brand Development to formulate and execute season ticket marketing and sales campaigns for all ticketed sports. Lead and direct all marketing and game presentation efforts to develop a best-in-class fan experience through video board operations, promotions, fan giveaways, game atmosphere, and direction of full-time staff, interns, and volunteers for football, men’s basketball, and other sports as assigned. Oversee Fan Experience staff in the execution of all marketing and promotional efforts for all 18 athletic programs through the development and execution of fully integrated marketing plans, utilizing conventional, grassroots and digital marketing strategies in advance of the season. Write scripts and direct in-game timing and execution of promotions, video board features, music, public address reads and other elements during the season. Supervise and lead Fan Experience staff members towards the execution of sales and marketing goals for each of their assigned sports and programs to ensure goals are met and exceeded. Review and evaluate goals and plans with the staff member at each season’s conclusion. Oversee the Fan Experience student internship program, including recruiting, scheduling and training a team of undergraduate students to accomplish marketing, fan engagement, and creative tasks. Provide leadership in the use of data analytics to develop marketing and sales strategies which develop strong leads and drive revenue. Serves as Marketing Director for all ACC and NCAA Championship events hosted by Wake Forest to include any of the intercollegiate sports. Serve as liaison for university student organizations, including Greek Life and the Office of Student Engagement to grow and maximize student attendance and engagement at events. Work in partnership with Learfield/IMG College staff members to manage inventory of current in-game sponsorship elements while focusing additional efforts on idea generation to add, update and enhance sponsorship activations to maximize fan engagement. Provide leadership to the Director of Spirit Programs and Events, and the Mascot Assistant in leading and managing the Wake Forest Spirit Squads and the Demon Deacon mascot program. Provide leadership in community outreach efforts to promote marketing programs and the Wake Forest Brand to the Winston-Salem community and throughout the Triad. Work closely with internal and external departments to execute campaigns, generate revenue and communicate Wake Forest’s brand and institutional messaging. Assist Video Services and Communication staff members on needs related to revenue generation, fan engagement, and to maximize the promotion of games and events. Collaborate with University Advancement on University-wide projects as needed. Upholds Wake Forest Athletics branding guidelines & identity standards. Other duties as assigned.
