Assistant Strength and Sport Performance Coach – Part Time (50%)

POSITION: A 50% part-time, UW- Eau Claire limited staff position is available in the Recreation and Sport Operations department beginning as soon as possible. The working title for this assignment is Assistant Strength and Sport Performance Coach – Part Time with an official title in the Coach title series. This is a Limited appointment as defined in the UWS 15.01 WI Administrative Code. The starting salary will be $32,000 annually (pro-rated to 50% or $16,000). DUTIES: The Assistant Strength and Performance Coach assists in the programming and implementation of training for students on campus as well as in the administration of the McPhee Strength and Performance Center. The individual must work closely with individuals from throughout the campus to ensure quality implementation of strength and performance programming. Flexibility of schedule is a must, especially in terms of hours worked since early morning, late evening, weekend, and holiday work may be a necessity. PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES •In conjunction with the MSPC Head and Assistant Strength coaches, assist in the operational and programming activities of the MSPC to ensure a high-performance environment. •Meet with the Head Strength Coach/MSPC Coordinator at minimum on a weekly basis to discuss needs and updates. •Program and implement comprehensive training programs for multiple teams within the athletic department. oImplement training programs including in-season and offseason sessions oLead warmup, speed, agility, lifting and conditioning sessions dependent on program oUtilize multiple forms of technology to implement, assess, and track performance oAdjust training plans based off of individual athlete needs. oSet-up communication groups with each team of athletes to increase efficiency and individualization of training. oCommunicate scheduling, equipment needs, concerns with the Head Strength Coach/MSPC Coordinator. oCommunicate regularly with Athletic Training staff and sport coaches to create a collaborative environment. •Assist in programming and implementing training for the football and swim and dive teams. •Attend all Recreation staff meetings, retreats, and trainings. •This position is a campus security authority (CSA) position. UNIT: The UW-Eau Claire Strength and Performance staff are housed under the University Recreation and Sport Operations department and provide performance programming for all 25 NCAA Division III athletic teams.
