The Director of Social Media will develop the social media strategy for Pitt Athletics, maintain Pitt Athletics accounts, operationalize social media engagement/sharing platform (Inflcr), build social media ‘street teams’, update social media style guide, and provide social media training to staff, student-athletes, and coaches. He/she will work closely with Media Relations and Marketing staff to build a cohesive brand across all Pitt sport accounts as well as provide direction to designated operatives of various department accounts. He/she will also work closely with the Assistant Director of Digital Media managing the digital media platform for the athletic department. Digital Media includes (but not limited to): PittsburghPanthers.com; shoppittpanthers.com; pittband.com; additional websites focused on recruiting, Panther Club; and the Pitt Panthers mobile app. The Director of Social Media will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director of Media Relations. Bachelor’s degree and at least three years in a relevant field required.
At least two years’ experience managing social media content and strategy. Experience managing website in a fast-paced environment and proficiency in HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, graphic design, other web best practices, photography, and video production experience also preferred.
