The Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach for Gymnastics. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director.
The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
Assist the head coach in the organization, administration and promotion of all aspects of the Oregon State Gymnastics program. Coaching includes instruction, academic supervision of the athletes, program management for the specific area assigned and preparation of recommendations to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics. Adhere to the policies set forth by direct supervisors, Head Coach and Athletic Director, as well as Oregon State University, the Pac 12 Conference and The National Collegiate Athletic Association
Bachelor’s degree in discipline of choice.
Three years successful coaching experience at the NCAA collegiate level or three years successful experience coaching Elite/International level, or Level 10 Gymnastics. A candidate may use one year of volunteer coach experience towards the three years of experience required.
Must possess the ability to plan, spot and conduct daily workouts on all four disciplines (vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise).

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months..
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OAR 125-155-0200) as per OAR 576-056-0000 et seq.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Demonstrable successful coaching career (Success equates to outcomes such as All-Americans, Olympians, etc).
Coaching and/or competitive experience at the NCAA championship level.
3 years of Full-time coaching experience at the NCAA collegiate level.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Demonstrable experience in identifying and recruiting elite-level female student-athletes within the sport of gymnastics is highly preferred.
Basic knowledge and understanding of the professionalism necessary to successfully contribute to a Division I athletics program.
