Under the general supervision of the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach, serve as the assistant coach with primary oversight of the men’s and women’s diving program in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten, and University regulations.
• Plan and direct the overall training strategy for the diving program;
• Establish practice, training and competition schedules;
• Create and implement a successful recruiting plan;
• Travel to competitions;
• Coordinate team travel;
• Areas of responsibility may include: conditioning, public relations, equipment acquisitions, camps/clinics, and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of three years of coaching diving required; experience as a diving coach at the collegiate Division I level preferred
Ideal candidates would demonstrate the following abilities:
Ability to develop student-athletes’ skills to maximize performance
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
ability to relate well to a diverse group of student-athletes, administrators and University constituents;
Administratively self-sufficient. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, web applications, and basic video filming and editing.
Work well independently and in teams
The ability to be flexible in accepting new responsibilities.
Conditions of Appointment: This is a Limited appointment on an 11-month contract. This position requires occasional night and weekend work as well as travel. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
