The Associate Director of Athletics Performance serves in the Department of Athletics and reports to the Director of Athletics Performance. This position supports Volleyball and Acrobatics and Tumbling, and is responsible for assisting with enhancement of the physical and mental development of strength and conditioning through the use of sport specific scientifically based training programs that develop the speed, strength, and work capacity of student-athletes.
The successful candidate will have the following:
A Bachelor's degree in Sports Performance or a related field
At least two years of relevant work experience
Actively hold either a CSCS or CSCCa certification*
The ability to obtain a CPR/AED certification*
* Once obtained, certifications must be kept active.
A Master's Degree with at least four years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Provides coaching through instructional expertise and direction in the areas of speed, strength, and conditioning for assigned athletic programs including pre-season, in-season, and post-season workouts.
Maintains communication with administration and/or coaching staff relative to student-athlete speed, strength, or conditioning issues. Work with athletic trainers to implement individual rehabilitative and reconditioning programs as needed.
Provides recruiting support through presentation of support to athletes and parents during on-campus recruiting visits for athletic programs.
Assists in the maintenance and proper use of athletic performance facilities in order to create an efficient and safe working environment.
Maintains working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
