The academic coordinator assists with the direction and operation of the Lindenwood University Academic Success Center, helping to develop and implement strategies and policies. This role monitors study hours and computer labs, as well as assists in creating programs that support the academic and personal development of student-athletes.

Creates, implements and evaluates comprehensive academic plans for student-athletes on assigned teams
Assists with day-to-day oversight and operation of the Academic Success Center
Stays current on effective methods of intervention, communication and hands-on strategies for academic success and student development
Monitors continuing academic eligibility, maintaining working knowledge of and adherence to all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Lindenwood University rules and regulations
Meets regularly with designated at-risk students
Enforces Academic Success Center study hall rules and expectations for all student-athletes
Addresses issues and inquiries presented by current and prospective student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff in a timely manner
Communication, Collaboration and Teamwork
Maintains sound documentation practices
Communicates regularly and intervenes purposefully with a diverse group of student-athletes with a range of communication styles and skill sets
Disseminates academic information to coaches and other necessary staff in a regular, timely and effective manner
Communicates regularly with faculty members regarding student-athlete success and welfare
Participates in National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) committee work and collaborates with departmental and on-campus committees
Planning, Organizing and Accountability
Maintains and organizes highly confidential academic records for teams, including attendance, grades, testing/accommodations and other essential information for academic success
Oversees the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
Fosters student-athlete development by assisting with, but not limited to: Student-Athlete Welcome Back Social, production of the Student-Athlete Talent Show, Make-A-Wish fundraising, and production of The Roars awards show
Multi-tasks to prioritize and meet the diverse needs of assigned teams both in-season and out-of-season
Initiative, Problem Solving and Decision Making
Evaluates incoming student profiles to assist with creation of individualized academic success plans
Collects and analyzes data regarding student-athlete academic performance and Academic Success Center usage to regularly implement positive change
Serves as a departmental and campus-wide representative of NCAA student-athlete welfare
Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
Experience working in NCAA athletics in some capacity
Master’s degree or JD preferred
Previous full-time experience in NCAA athletic academic support services preferred

Working knowledge and NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Lindenwood University rules regarding academic eligibility and compliance

Strong presentation skills with the ability to address large audiences
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, notably Excel
