Develop, organize, and implement year-round sports performance programs for UCSB student-athletes including proper lifting techniques, speed development, plyometrics, nutrition, injury rehabilitation, and recovery methods. Communicate regularly and consistently with coaching and athletic training staff regarding pertinent details related to the training program. Direct the testing and evaluation of athletes on a consistent basis. Maintain a computer training database with information on each team and specific student-athletes. Counsel athletes on basics of nutrition for health and wellness, training, competition, recovery, hydration, travel and supplementation. Assist in recruitment of prospective student-athletes as requested. Conduct and monitor all aspects of the program in accordance with the rules and policies established by UC Santa Barbara, the Conference for which the sport is a member, and the NCAA.
