Compliance Coordinator
Stetson Athletics Department
As a full-time, twelve-month position, the Compliance Coordinator reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. This position will assist the Assistant Athletic Director with all phases of administering a comprehensive NCAA Division I, ASUN Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and Pioneer Football League compliance, monitoring, and rules education program. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include: (May be narrative or bullet points) •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required; Advance degree preferred. •Minimum of one year of NCAA compliance experience at an institution, conference office or the NCAA is required; Division I compliance experience is preferred. •Demonstrate knowledge of NCAA Division I rules, interpretations, and rules education. •Ability and understanding to use NCAA website tools (e.g., LSDBi and CAi), recruiting software (i.e., JumpForward), university databases (e.g., Banner), and other computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentations). •Effective communication, both orally and in writing to various constituents. •Commitment to high ethical standards. •Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to take initiative, complete time-sensitive matters, and multi-task under minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Monitoring and ensuring compliance with NCAA and university rules through the use of various database systems (e.g., JumpForward, Banner). •Perform documentation review, audits, and observations in the following areas: recruiting, playing and practice seasons, student-athlete awards and extra benefits, amateurism, initial and continuing eligibility, student-athlete employment, outside competition, social networking, camps and clinics, and athletics personnel. •Assist with the rules education program by producing appropriate materials for athletics department staff, student-athletes, university staff, and boosters. •Assist with updating departmental manuals for student-athletes and coaches. •Disseminate NCAA interpretations, educational columns, and legislation, as necessary. •Present rules education at sessions with staff, coaches, and student-athletes. •Complete internal and external transfer requests. •Assist with preparation of waivers and rules violation investigations, as needed. •Requires some physical effort (e.g., standing, walking, and lifting), manual dexterity in operation of office equipment, extended period of time at a keyboard, and, at times, working hours outside the normal university schedule •Performs other site and position specific functions as assigned.
