Reporting Relationship: Assistant AD for Communications and Marketing Responsibility Summary: The individual is responsible for assisting the Assistant AD for Athletic Communications and Marketing with all aspects of promoting the Department of Athletics’ 16 varsity teams and its student-athletes. The Sports Information Coordinator will serve as the primary sports information contact for a minimum of 10 varsity sports and will also be responsible for game operations duties within those sports. Specific Responsibilities: Serve as the primary Sports Information contact for a minimum of 8 varsity sports Duties to include but not limited to: Updating rosters, creating game day programs, conducting pre and post-game interviews, writing and distributing press releases internally and to local media members, updating rosters and statistics, actively managing event-day Sports Information staff, producing live web streaming and performing play-by-play broadcasts as needed, maintaining and operating StatCrew, Presto and Dakstats statistical software, setting up live statistics for every home contest, managing coach and athlete bio information, nominating coaches and student-athletes for preseason, weekly and postseason awards, serve as liaison to conference office •Write feature stories to be used on www.menloathletics.com and in the Menlo Advantage Magazine. •Process all local media interview requests for assigned sports and inform media of all major happenings, upcoming events and points of interest •Responsible for updating record books and student-athlete and coaches’ bios in a timely manner for assigned sports •Responsible for maintaining statistical archives for assigned sports •Game Operations functions to include scheduling and managing student work staff, hiring and onboarding new student workers and managing a budget •Produce regular, engaging content to promote assigned sports and the department as a whole on social media •Assist in coordinating all special events: OAKtoberFest, Athletics Hall of Fame, Vegas Night, End of Year Banquet, etc. •Others duties as assigned by Athletic Department Administration This is an exempt, 10 month position.
