The Video Assistant position is responsible for assisting in all areas of the WSU Sports Video Department. These include, but are not limited to: producing high-quality creative video content for social media channels (athletics main account and team accounts), filming and editing, posting on wsucougars.com. Content creation includes: filming/editing, filming practices, games, events, press conferences, behind-the-scenes footage of teams/events. Occasional setup and operation of webcasting equipment for non-TV events, sharing external FTP event highlights/re-caps, editing and posting of social media event promotions and special features. The creation of special video projects, as directed. Assist with the maintenance and support of the Sports Video archives.
High School graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in electronics, television operations, or production, including one year as a TV/Video Equipment Operator 1; OR equivalent education/experience.
Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of new multimedia technologies including networked computer editing. (i.e. Adobe Premier, Final Cut, AVID)
Work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully operate and manage industry standard video cameras, scheduling and multimedia equipment.
Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time of hire.
